“Photopgraphy means to me capturing time and passing on the magic of moments. It enables the soul to discover different worlds without moving. It has the power to affect people's view of world.”

In August 2019, I recieved the opportunity to travel through the arctic zone in regions like Devon Island (Canada), Hans Island (Greenland) and deep into zones of massive pack ice.

Because we went by ship it was essential to bring a tele-zoom lens as well as an super wide angle to show the infinite expanse of this part of world. The lighting mood in the arctic zone was the first thing that enchanted me und it is so much more than just a barren land. It’s full of life that finds its way through tongues of ice layers.
I was observing polar bears amid ice floes that were shifting with drifting. I still hear the noise they make when they collide and I won’t forget the sound of solitude.

This journey teached me humility and I hope I can visit this mystical place again one day.
