“I like to travel to the northern and also colder countries of the world and I feel very comfortable there. There is so much to discover that it probably does not fit into a human life.
To capture these landscapes and discoveries in pictures is a fascination that has been with me for almost 13 years now and never lets go. The next journeys will be to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia this year. After that the Northern Lights hunt on Iceland will follow in October.”

In my childhood I already read a book by Klaus Bednarz “Oestlich der Sonne” which fascinated me. In 2019 I decided to travel to Lake Baikal in Russia with some photographers and go on a photo stalk. Lake Baikal is the oldest and deepest (about 1600m) freshwater lake on earth. It is 670km long and 82km at its widest point. In winter it freezes completely so that you can drive over it comfortably by car. Very beautiful and unique ice formations are formed and when the sun rises or sets and shines through there is a very special light (picture). Furthermore, at Lake Baikal you can experience the original life of fishermen in small villages and on the ice. We also stayed in houses of local people and experienced these people as very hospitable. There was partly no electricity and also no running water. We visited the typical Russian Banja where the bath house was located at the same time.
We fished with ice fishermen and visited holy places of the shamans as well as Budhist temples. Russia we will come back.
