“When pictures act as role models, we photographers* also shape the way people look at them with our publications. In my (nude) portraits I would like to show the strength, diversity, perfection and also (supposedly) imperfection in people.”

I had been experimenting for a few weeks with long time exposures of up to 10 seconds with bodies in motion. During a photo shoot in February 2020 I had the idea to take portraits with long time exposures. I choose exposure times of 1 to 2 seconds and flash several times while the person moves their head. This creates surreal-looking portraits, the “Moving Portraits”.
